We have been preserving treasures
in Jpeg format for over 400 years

This story is real. It began over 400 years ago. In Milan, in 1609, an enlightened man decided to collect manuscripts, codices and books from all literary, scientific and religious disciplines together in a public place accessible to all. By his will, a monumental palace was built which also includes a part already built in 1400.

The web did not exist at the time, but he sent his trusted men around the world to buy manuscripts, codices and books from the most diverse cultures: Latin, Greek, Arabic, Gothic and Oriental texts all ended up in the collection.

Purchases were followed by donations and the opening of a space dedicated to paintings and other art forms. Galileo Galilei called this place "the heroic and immortal library".

Another story

There's another story that deserves to be heard. This story is about a man who was born in 1452 in Anchiano. It is the story of the "Universal Genius" (Universalis Genius). When he arrived in Milan, his story intertwined with that of some young people who decided to follow him. Very few became his direct students, others his collaborators. However, all of them became extraordinary artists. Hundreds of their works have been kept and preserved over the centuries to this day. Numerous portraits or figures of women, men and animals. Preparatory drawings, experiments. People that perhaps never existed, fruit of the imagination. Or maybe, maybe ... yet to encounter and get to know

A new journey

There are many mysteries, riddles, and stories that after nearly 600 years have to be solved. Places are limited, and the journey will lead us to meet numerous characters and obtain unexpected rewards. Those who want to take part will need courage, patience, but more than anything, curiosity.

The collection

The collection consists in a limited number of pfps registered on the Ethereum blockchain. It is inspired by three original Renaissance drawings: a young woman and two adult mens.

The young woman is found in one of the more than 1100 sheets of the Codex Atlanticus. This enchanting maiden in profile, her grin, her simplicity, are the characteristics of this drawing by Leonardo.

The two men's profiles, on the other hand, are kept in another archive that includes unpublished drawings by the great masters.

Melzi's profile is an adult male in three-quarter view, facing right. He looks to the right. The details of the face and neck show how Melzi learned from his master Leonardo the ability to make figures convey emotions.

Lastly, Leonardo's profile is a bald elderly man, in profile, facing right. His face, his expression, is an example of how Leonardo is able to give soul even to sketchy drawings.

Both drawings have been kept in the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana for over 400 years. They are three exclusive drawings that cannot be visited by the public, in fact both are in the Ambrosiana vault. A selection of pages from the Codex Atlanticus and the masterpiece "Musico" by Leonardo da Vinci are on display in the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana.

Accessories, clothes, symbols, Renaissance patterns, but also anecdotes, puzzles, rewards to unlock, physical objects and exclusive partnerships are the features of The Visi. Furthermore The possession of digital collectibles from The Visi collection will allow you to become a member of a dynasty that will make history. Join us

There's more to it than meets the eye

What do you see in these Jpegs?

Be careful...there's more to it than meets the eye....

Pay attention to the details....

VII

Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana

The Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana possesses the world's largest collection of Leonardo da Vinci's drawings, plans and writings, mostly collected in the famous Codex Atlanticus.

Raphael, Caravaggio, Titian, Brueghel the Elder, Bramantino, Rubens, Sandro Botticelli, Salaino and Leonardo da Vinci are some of the most famous artists in the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana's artistic heritage.

In the Library's immense holdings we find texts from various eras and geographical areas: from the 52 fragments of parchment of Ilias Picta, drawn up in the fifth century, to the famous collection of works of Virgil owned by Petrarch, with its annotations in the margin. From the Borromeo Book of Hours, first of the many valuable illuminated manuscripts present, to Pacioli's De Divina Proportione, illustrated by Leonardo da Vinci. And also: portulans and maps, memories of the period of the great geographical discoveries

Arabic texts such as Kitab al-Hayawan (Book of Animals) by 'Amr bin Bahr al-Gahiz; manuscript miniaturised in Arabic in the 15th century or a precious collection of poems (diwan) from the 11th century. There are also works of Chinese, Armenian, Greek and Jewish origin, to name but a few, which Borromeo had collected from all over the world.

Last but not least, the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana has a large amount of correspondence that recounts the institution's past dialogue with historical figures such as Galileo Galilei, but also Brueghel The Elder, who is universally recognised as one of the greatest Flemish Renaissance artists and who sent reflections to Cardinal Borromeo. And again the beautiful correspondence with Virginia de Leyva, known to all as the Monaca di Monza.

Some of the excellent names that have visited the institution throughout history include Montesquieu, Foscolo, Stendhal, Byron, Oscar Wilde, Leopardi and D'Annunzio.

And lastly, the Accademia, which is not made up of books or priceless works of art, such as the library and the art gallery, the Accademia has within it a wealth that is perhaps even more precious, because it is capable of making the first two live and flourish. The scholars who make up the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana, renowned academics and promising young researchers, are gathered in study classes whose task is to understand the heritage of the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana, combining creativity and personal study, to trigger and keep alive processes of growth of knowledge capable of producing a new humanistic culture, to be distributed through meetings and publications.

Mecenatismo

Revenues from sales and royalties from the collection will allow the Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana to finance projects to modernise the historic palace, to invest in everything necessary for the promotion and support of the "The Visi'' collections, to preserve the works, to modernise the internal lighting system, to increase its ability to attract visitors and to finance artistic and cultural projects for young people. Furthermore part of the earnings will be reinvested to support web3 projects and to collect crypto art.
